Total Overhaul of Tank 610-TK-101 to Support Operational Reliability at RU II Dumai
The reliability of crude oil storage tank facilities is one of the key factors in ensuring the smooth and sustainable operation of a refinery. Planned tank overhauls are carried out to ensure that the condition and functionality of the tanks continue to meet technical and safety requirements while optimally supporting operational needs. Maintaining tank reliability enables the safe and continuous receipt, storage, and transfer of crude oil, thereby contributing to the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the refinery.
As part of this effort, MIPCON Prima Industri carried out the Total Overhaul of Tank 610-TK-101 in the Oil Movement Area for PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional RU II Dumai. Located in Dumai and carried out during the 2024–2026 period, the project aims to restore the integrity and reliability of Tank 610-TK-101 to support the safety and sustainability of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Refinery Unit II Dumai operations.
The work was carried out through a series of integrated stages, beginning with Engineering & Design Review, followed by dismantling, material procurement, and fabrication. The process then continued with installation/erection as part of the tank overhaul execution.

Following the installation/erection stage, the work continued with blasting & painting, before reaching the final stages of commissioning & handover. These activities formed an integrated process to support the restoration of the integrity and reliability of Tank 610-TK-101.
The overhaul work highlights the importance of a structured and comprehensive approach to industrial facility projects. By managing the work from the engineering stage through commissioning and handover, safety, quality, and reliability remain integral to the overall execution.
